Steel pipework, industrial pipes and pipeline components are subject to internal and external corrosion. Shot blasting removes all rust, mill scale and old coatings to bare metal, preparing the surface for a new protective coating system.
We blast the external surface of pipework in situ using mobile equipment. Internal blasting of large-bore pipes (300mm+ diameter) is also available using specialist lances.
After blasting, pipework is typically coated with a fusion-bonded epoxy (FBE), coal tar epoxy, or zinc-rich primer system depending on the service environment. We can coordinate with your coating contractor or provide a combined service.
