Concrete floor shot blasting is a surface-preparation route for epoxy, polyurethane or resin floor systems. Our self-contained machines profile suitable concrete floors to the required CSP range, removing laitance, contamination and weak surface layers without wet slurry. Final requirements should follow the proposed coating system and project specification. Concrete and screed floors are not specified using steel blast-cleaning grades such as Sa 2.5.
The appropriate CSP profile depends on the coating specification, substrate condition and intended treatment. Confirm the actual profile, repairs, moisture, access, traffic and acceptance requirements before finalising the work package.
The published Tamworth distribution-centre record documents a 3,200 m² warehouse floor prepared to CSP 4 before the coating contractor's handover. It is a useful example, not a universal profile, programme or outcome for every floor. View it in the Case Studies library.
