Bromsgrove School — External Staircase Restoration

This project record documents the restoration of an external spiral staircase at Bromsgrove School. The supplied before-condition film and imagery record flaking paint and rust in areas of the staircase before work. The completed image records a black painted finish, with black anti-slip paint applied to the steps.

The recorded starting condition

The supplied project media shows the external stair structure, including treads, guardrails and support steelwork, before the documented restoration. Paint was flaking and rust was visible in areas. This project record does not infer a technical standard, preparation method, paint brand, coating thickness, programme or life expectancy beyond the user-confirmed scope and supplied media.

Recorded restoration scope

The weathered staircase was brought back to life and painted black. Black anti-slip paint was added to the stair treads. The before/after comparison and supplied before-condition project film show the documented visual change without extending the claim beyond those facts.

Planning an external staircase restoration

The appropriate route depends on the actual steel condition, access, the work area, safe use of walking surfaces and the intended finish. Explore external staircase work, steel surface preparation and commercial shot blasting before arranging a survey.
