A skilled operative can typically achieve 8–15 m² per hour on structural steel to Sa 2.5. A 50-tonne frame takes 1–2 days; a 200-tonne frame takes 5–7 days. Complex fabrications with tight angles and stiffeners take longer than simple sections.
Self-propelled floor machines cover 200–400 m² per day. A 1,000 m² warehouse floor typically takes 2–3 days including setup and cleanup. Heavily contaminated floors or those requiring a deeper profile (CSP 5–6) take longer.
